Palaeo Laboratory- Kids’ Dinosaur Discovery
Step back in time and explore the prehistoric story of Inverloch, where dinosaurs once roamed and ancient landscapes shaped the coastline we know today.
Perfect for budding palaeontologists, this hands-on lab experience invites participants to learn how fossils are found and identified, discover Australia’s dinosaur history, and create their own fossil to take home. Led by an experienced palaeontologist from the South Gippsland Conservation Society, the session blends science, storytelling and outdoor exploration.
Activities take place at the Bunurong Environment Centre, followed by a short self-drive trip to Wallace Avenue Community Park, where participants will crack open rocks in search of real fossil discoveries.
A fascinating, family-friendly experience connecting people with nature, science and the deep-time history beneath Inverloch’s feet.
